Television journalist Colin Sykes will front an evening of popular music at Buxton Methodist Church next Tuesday (July 26) at 7.30pm.

With songs from the 50s to the present day, the programme covers an eclectic mix of classic pop and favourites from the musicals.

Colin – Environment and Transport Correspondent for the BBC regional programme North West Tonight - will be performing as part of Four to the Bar, which also includes his wife Janette and friends Glynis and Alan Wells.

“We’re calling the evening Beyond the Fringe because our date falls just before the end of the main Buxton Festival, but misses the Fringe by just a few hours,” said Colin.

“I hope there’ll still be plenty of people looking for a final burst of music and keen to support a well-deserving local charity.”

Part of the proceeds will go to the Chapel-en-le-Frith Mobile Physiotherapy Service.

Tickets, priced £7, with concessions for senior citizens and children, are available on the door or from Roger Turner on 01298 812967
