HALF a century after the Beatles rocked Buxton, a tribute gig is to be held at the Devonshire Dome.
Tribute act the Backbeat Beatles are to play at the Dome on Friday September 28, marking the 50th anniversary of the Beatles’ debut performance in the spa town.
The Backbeat Beatles were formed by actor and songwriter Chris O’Neill following his successful role in the BAFTA award-winning Beatles film, Backbeat.
Event organiser Emily Ibbotson, of Meet Me At The Dome, said: “We hope many people come and join us at this celebration of the Beatles’ music in spectacular surroundings.
“Whether you saw the real band when they visited almost 50 years ago, or if you’re new to their songs, it’s sure to be a great night of live music.”
People are urged to reserve tickets early for what is sure to be a popular event, running from 7.30pm until late.
Tickets cost £15 for adults and £7.50 for children and senior citizens, and can be purchased at the Devonshire Dome reception on Devonshire Road, by calling 01332 594606, or by visiting unishop.derby.ac.uk.
Drinks can be purchased from a fully-licensed bar on the night.
