Concert features songs from musical theatre

A spectacular array of songs from musical theatre will kick-start Tideswell male Voice Choir’s 2013 concert programme.

Guests Huntingdon Male Voice Choir and soloists Erin Alexander and Matthew Mellor will join over 100 of the Tideswell choir’s male voices on stage at Buxton’s Pavilion Arts Centre on Sunday April 7, at 7pm.

The evening’s programme will feature music by Lennon & McCartney, Simon & Garfunkle and Queen among others, as well as favourites from musical theatre, including ‘Les Miserables’.

Dennis Kay, Tideswell Male Voice Choir’s Principal Conductor and Director of Music, said: “I am delighted that the choir is making a quick return to this wonderful venue in Buxton to start the new musical year.

“I am very much looking forward to sharing the evening with our colleagues from Huntingdon, as well as two young wonderful soloists.”

Currently undertaking vocal studies at the University of Chichester, soloists Erin and Matt are already performing to great acclaim. Their unmissable programme will contain individual pieces and duets.

Through its fund-raising activities, Tideswell Male Voice Choir will be supporting Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice in North Anston and Helen’s Trust in Bakewell throughout 2013.

Tickets for the concert, priced £12.50, are available on 01298 77947 or from Buxton Opera House on 0845 127 2190.
