A HILARIOUS feel-good comedy written and directed by John Godber is opening at Buxton Opera House on Thursday.
Weekend Breaks is a classic comedy of love, lust, laughs and the Lake District from the hilarious and poignant Godber repertoire.
It will be performed at the Water Street venue from Thursday until Saturday, at 7.30pm, with a matinee performance on the Saturday at 2.30pm.
The story focuses on Martin Dawson, a promising academic and aspiring film writer. Having married into TV royalty, a recent extra marital fling has left him trying to patch things up with his wife and his disapproving working class parents.
In a comedy about culture clashes, wine, wit and Whitby, Weekend Breaks sees Godber at his perceptive best, as Martin rediscovers his roots and what it really means to love your parents; even when you want to kill them!
Tickets, priced £12, £14 and £16, are available from the Box Office on 0845 127 2190 or online at www.buxtonoperahouse.org.uk.
