THE STORY of The Springfields is told at Buxton Opera House on Thursday January 26, at 7.30pm.
Join the ride from the band’s beginnings as a pop/folk act, through to Dusty’s solo work, Tom’s hits with The Seekers and Mike Hurst’s hits with Cat Stevens, Manfred Mann, P P Arnold, Spencer Davies, Showaddywaddy and Shakin’ Stevens.
While The Springfields have been reborn, with Hurst now joined by Marina Berry and Andy Marlow, this is not a tribute or lookalike show. It is a celebration of all the music of The Springfields.
It is a living jukebox of hits and a journey through 40 years of history, with Hurst as narrator, singer and musician.
The show utilises news stories of each decade, through projection, and Hurst’s own life and times as an artist and top producer. Musicians include Clem Cattini, Ray Fenwick and Colin Farley.
Tickets, priced £16 and £18, are available on 0845 127 2190 or at www.buxtonoperahouse.org.uk.
