Cash is back (almost)

The life and times of one of the greatest musicians of the 20th century, Johnny Cash, will be celebrated at the Buxton Opera House on Wednesday August 29.

At the head of the Johnny Cash Roadshow, taking on the role of the Country and Rock and Roll Hall of Famer is singer/songwriter Clive John complete with backing outfit The Spirit Band and Jill Schoonjans playing the part of Cash’s wife and collaborator, June Carter.

The Roadshow aims to transcend regular music performances and instead become an audiovisual extravaganza charting Cash’s career with an evocative backdrop of images and videos taken throughout his life.

Taking the audience from the origins of Cash’s fame in the 1950s up to his most modern work, the show encompasses his 55 studio albums.

All of the most well-known hits from a career than spanned five decades will be on show, including Ring of Fire, A Boy Named Sue, Folsom Prison Blues, Man In Black, Walk The Line, Jackson, Sunday Morning Coming Down, Hurt and many more.

Aiming to provide all the authenticity and true essence of a Johnny Cash concert, this is certainly one not to be missed.

Starting at 7.30pm, tickets for The Johnny Cash Roadshow are priced at £15.50 and £17.50, and discounts are available.
