Whaley Bridge Library has been officially reopened after improvement works were carried out.
Derbyshire County Council (DCC) installed new shelving so books are more accessible, a new counter, a new carpet and also re-decorated throughout.
Councillor Andrew Lewer, DCC Leader and Cabinet Member for Culture said: “Libraries are a vital part of our community and it is important they are warm and welcoming.
“I hope people will come and see what is new, particularly those who have not been in a library for a while.”
Younger visitors enjoyed a song and rhyme time with poet and songwriter Sally Goldsmith at the re-opening.
