Call goes out for card players

If you enjoy a game of Solo head to Caroline Court, in Hope, on a Monday night from 7pm onwards. For only £1, you will get a fun evening including refreshments.

And Bamford whist group would love to see new players join them on a Wednesday at 7-30pm. Meet at Bamford Village Hall. Entrance fee is £1.50 and includes refreshments.

Beginners are encouraged and all ages are welcome.

“Card playing is something everyone can do at any age,” says Peter Scanlon, who plays in both groups. “It’s a really enjoyable night, very welcoming and a good way to meet new people. I would encourage everyone to come along and try it. You don’t need to know how to play; there’s lots of help if you need it.”
