London Festival Opera return to Buxton Opera House this month for an evening of great music, superb singing, riveting drama and sumptuous costumes.
Following hugely-popular summer shows in 2010 and 2011, they introduce their new show A Night at the Opera.
Accompanied by a select chamber ensemble, the show will feature highlights from Mozart’s The Magic Flute in costume, followed by celebrated arias and ensembles from the great works of Rossini, Verdi, Bizet, Puccini, Offenbach and Gilbert & Sullivan.
Suitable for opera connoisseurs and newcomers alike, London Festival Opera has a considerable reputation and brings together international artists from the major British companies including the Royal Opera House, English National Opera and Glyndebourne, with exceptional young singers from the new, younger ranks of British opera.
The company has appeared throughout the UK and Europe including as a guest company in one of the world’s greatest opera houses, La Fenice in Venice.
Tickets for the performance of A Night at the Opera on Sunday August 18, at 7.30pm, are priced at £18 and £20, with discounts and family tickets available. They can be purchased through the Box Office on 0845 127 2190 or online at www.buxtonoperahouse.org.uk.
