RESIDENTS are being asked for their views on how they think Whaley Bridge Memorial Park could be improved.
The information will be used to support a bid to the Heritage Lottery Parks for People programme.

Possible improvements include resurfacing of paths, new play equipment, new bins, signs, seating and information panels.

High Peak Borough Council
is using GreenSTAT questionnaires to help them with the exercise.

Officers will be meeting residents at Tesco in Whaley Bridge from Thursday August 28 to Saturday August 30, between 9am and 8pm.

John Haken, Executive Councillor for the Environment, said: "We are relying on the people who live in Whaley Bridge and who use the Memorial Park, to pass on their ideas for improvement."

Residents who take part in the survey before September 12 will be eligible for a prize draw, where the winners will receive a meal to the value of £70 at a venue of their choice within the High Peak.

Residents can also make their comments online via the Council's website at: http://external/culture/parks.asp#greenstat.

Comments can be made directly to Christine Latham on 0845 129 77 77 or 01298 28400, extension 2255.

Requests for a form by post or email can be made by phoning 0845 129 77 77 or by emailing customer-services@highpeak.gov.uk.

The council would also like to hear from residents who have any knowledge of the history of the Memorial Park and its development over the years.
