BUILDING design and landscaping in relation to a mixed-use development in Whaley Bridge have been given the go-ahead.
The scheme at Hogs Yard, adjacent to the existing Tesco store, will incorporate offices, food and drink, and assembly and leisure.
It was granted outline planning permission in 2005.
At a Development Control Meeting on Monday, High Peak Boroug
h Council agreed matters concerning landscaping and the external appearance of the two buildings which are planned for the site.
Adrian Fisher, the authority's Head of Planning and Development Services, said extensive negotiations had taken place with the developer to agree their external appearance.
"The aim is to reflect what has been built recently off the A6 Chapel bypass," he told members of the committee.
Consisting of two buildings, with a floor area of 797 square metres and 1,258 square metres respectively, the development will be constructed to a high-quality, contemporary design.
External materials will be a mixture of artificial stone and render, with balconies and railings in steel and glazing.
The central roof feature will be a curved zinc profile with side sections, which will be flat and covered in sedum to provide a 'green' roof garden.
