HIGH Peak schools have scooped awards for helping their pupils lead healthy lives.
A ceremony was held at County Hall, Matlock, for schools to celebrate their achievement in gaining the National Healthy Schools Status.

These included: Chapel-en-le-Frith Primary School, Hartington Primary School and Whaley Bridge Primary School.

To achieve the status, schools had to work hard in meeting 40 targets in the areas of healthy eating, physical activity and emotional health and well-being.

Cllr Anne Western, Derbyshire County Council's cabinet member for children's services, said: "These schools have worked hard to help their pupils lead healthy lives and thoroughly deserve this recognition."
