AFTER giving up a career in local government to pursue her dream of becoming a designer, a Whaley Bridge woman has just seen her work exhibited in London.
Denise Thompson decided after ten years working in local government to pack it all in and move to the High Peak to go back to school and study design.
Now she has just finished the third year of her studies at Manchester Metropolitan University, and has just been down to London to see her work on display at the New Designers Exhibition.
"I am really thrilled," said Denise, who was pleased to have the opportunity to showcase her ceramics specialising in space saving and convenient tableware.
Denise, who also won the Design Initiative Professional Development Award 2008, will study for a further years on a course which is geared to starting up in business.
