BUSINESS owners are being warned to be extra vigilant following a spate of burglaries in the New Mills and Whaley Bridge areas.
Police have dealt with 15 reported break-ins since the beginning of March - which have been committed both in the evening and during the daytime.

Chapel-en-le-Frith Inspector Tracy Lewis said: "Though most of the premises targeted have been business premises, there have been one or two private garages and sheds broken into as well.

"The thieves seem to be taking anything of value that they can find and we need the support of the public to help try and capture those responsible as soon as possible.

"I want people to be extra vigilant and report anything that appears suspicious."

Anyone with information should contact Derbyshire Constabulary on 0845 123 33 33 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.

Business owners who are concerned about the security of their premises can also contact one of the force's specially trained Crime Prevention Officers.
