AN ANNOUNCEMENT on the proposed set-up of Steps One to Four of the non-league football pyramid for next season is expected to be made by the FA tomorrow (Friday).
And New Mills AFC is still clinging to the hope that it will be promoted to Step Four after finishing runner-up in the Vodkat Premier Division.

Club Secretary Duncan Hibbert said: "Everybody at New Mills awaits Friday's decision with considerable interest.

"The club is in a state of limbo at the moment and cannot finalise anything until we know what league we will be playing in.

"Budgets, season tickets, prices, pre-season friendlies, etc, cannot be arranged, let alone resolving the ongoing situation with the manager.

"There are potentially gaps to be filled within the UniBond League as teams are struggling financially and have voluntarily relegated themselves.

"Others have been automatically relegated due to them failing FA ground grading inspections."
