BUXTON Football Club officials and supporters are mourning the passing of the former secretary of the club Ron Malpass.
He held the post at the club from May 1962 until he retired in 1985.

His son-in-law Alan Brailsford became chairman of the club after Ron had left.

Buxton club chairman Tony Tomlinson said: "Ron was Buxton through and through. He gave his all for the club and was very well respected.

"He was also a leading figure in the former Cheshire League."
