A 66TH minute goal sealed Buxton's second successive defeat at the Silverlands on Tuesday night.
The home side just edged the first half action and could have gone ahead within the first minute with Nathan James forcing a save from Boston keeper Chris Wright.
With 25 minutes gone, an inswinging Boston corner was palmed away by Scott Hartley before Mark Balfe went on the attack for Buxton but was denied by some strong defending. On the half hour mark, keeper Wright blocked Gregg Anderson's shot with his legs to keep things level before Boston's Ollie Ryan was gifted a chance by the napping Buxton defence but couldn't make the most of it.
Reuben Wiggins-Thomas was in the right place to hit home with seven minutes of the first period remaining but sent his shot wide of the target.
The visitors had the better start to the second period with Scott Hartley having to pull an impressive save off on his line after a Boston free header.
A long range effort by the visitors just skimmed the bar on the hour mark before they did manage to break through and take the lead, Ollie Ryan slicing the ball past Scott Hartley after some good work by Kieran Leabon.
Buxton substitute James Turley made an immediate impact when he arrived for Mark Balfe with a powerful long range shot just skimming the post in the 74th minute.
The home side's best hope of salvaging a point fell to Tommy Agus who somehow missed a practically open goal in injury time, sending the ball high and wide.
BUXTON: Hartley, Black, Agus, Lees, Anderson, O'Brien, Wiggins-Thomas, Towey, Balfe (Turley 72), James (Walker 63), Smith. Attendance: 408.
