The under-10s team similarly beat Barton B 3-0, but narrowly lost 1-0 to Stone and could only manage a 0-0 draw against Barton A, as they sealed a third-placed finish.

• Buxton’s fifths went down 3-1 at Stone Badgers last weekend in their latest friendly clash.

Featuring players mostly aged between 11-13, Buxton put in a good performance but unfortunately conceded very early on.

Stone went on to win fairly convincingly, but Charlie Hyland restored pride for the newly-formed side.
