Sports clubs score with grant scheme

HIGH Peak sports clubs have scored with Derbyshire County Council’s Sports Action Grant scheme.

Among the latest recipients is Buxton Sub Aqua Club, which receives £1,000 towards the cost of a new boat trailer. Hayfield Junior Football Club will collect £900 to purchase mini soccer goals, while High Peak Pony Club is awarded £1,000 to build a high quality cross country course.

Buxton Tennis Club’s award of £535 will enable it to hold a two-day training camp, while Disley and New Mills Angling Club nets £670 to teach angling to disadvantaged and disaffected young people.

Bamford Lawn Tennis Club will use its £940 to buy three tennis posts, nets and adjustable centre bands for its refurbished courts.
