This week’s sports pages in the Buxton Advertiser are full of local reports, features, interviews and more.

Our back-page story this week features local darts player Michael Haynes who made his live TV debut at the recent BDO Daily Mirror World Trophy event in Blackpool.

We get his thoughts on what it was like in front of the cameras and find out how he got on at the prestigious tournament.

Also in the sports section there is the news that will be music to the ears of local footballers in the High Peak, as Sunday League gears up for a possible return to the area.

There are also match reports from Buxton and New Mills, a full Hope Valley league round-up and all the upcoming fixtures and up-to-date tables.

Meanwhile, our featured match this week is the DCFA Divisional Cup North semi-final between New Mills’ reserves and Bradwell.

Also in the sports section is the usual page of hockey reports, a familiar face back at Buxton Hitmen and news of sporting bursaries being handed out to local athletes.

We at the Advertiser pride ourselves on bringing you the best coverage of sport in the High Peak area and we are always looking at making the sports section even better!

We therefore want to hear from you if there’s something you think we should be covering.

We’d urge you to make us aware by getting in touch.
