BUXTON RUFC forward Josh Degroot has made his second Three Counties appearance in as many weeks.
Degroot was a member of the Nottinghamshire, Lincolnshire and Derbyshire (NLD) senior side which competed in the County Championship Shield against Cumbria at Mansfield last Saturday.
The side produced a vastly improved performance on the previous week against Staffordshire, only to lose out in the end 44-29 to Cumbria having led for most of the match, in a pulsating see-saw encounter.
Degroot was singled out as being one of the stand-out players over the series.
Forwards coach Rory Kulkri said: “Josh has opened our eyes, we should now be looking at targeting him for England Counties selection next season on those performances.”
Buxton have also seen three players compete at NLD under-20 level this season.
