Buxton put in another terrific performance on Saturday to earn them a bonus point win over Linley.
Linley kicked off and Buxton immediately went on the attack, scoring two tries in the opening 10 minutes.
The first score came after great forward power and momentum from the pack, allowing Ewan Davis to crash over in the corner.
The second came soon after, from some great quick hands by the backs allowing Ainsley Armstrong to find some space out wide and touch down in the corner. Summerfield added the conversion.
Buxton then took their feet off the gas and allowed Linley’s forwards to run at them.
The visitors opted to keep the ball within the big heavy pack and constantly pounded the Buxton defence but just couldn’t find a way through as the hosts went in 12-0 up at the break.
Buxton restarted the half but Linley again took it straight to the hosts, through their rampaging forwards.
Wave after wave of attack was repelled by Buxton until the 60th minute, when the Linley number eight found enough space to meander through and touch down under the posts to reduce the deficit to just five points.
That try proved to be a wake-up call that the hosts needed and from then on, Buxton started to play some attacking rugby.
It wasn’t long before Buxton got on the scoreboard again, this time when Ben Austin crashed over after a fine run.
With the Bucks now ten points clear, they could breathe a little easier and this led to them romping to a fourth try late on.
A Buxton scrum five metres from the try-line gave a great platform for Oli Golden to break off and score under the posts, before Summerfield rounded off proceedings to seal a 17-point winning margin.
Buxton travel to Knutsford on Saturday for their penultimate league game.
