Champions Hope Valley Hawks aiming for more success in 2012

Have your say

RUGBY league side Hope Valley Hawks have begun pre-season training in preparation for the 2012 season of the 3vSport Midlands Merit League.

The Hawks are seeking to repeat last year’s successful season in which they claimed the league championship, beating Sleaford Spartans 72-36 in the final.

After only forming in 2011, the club is looking to take further strides in promoting the sport of rugby league within the High Peak.

In their second season in the 3vSport Midlands League, the Hawks will be looking to build on their championship title and welcome Wolverhampton RLFC to their home ground of Castleton Playing Fields for the first game of the season on Sunday May 6 (kick-off 2.30pm).

Training has begun and as ever the Hawks welcome any new starters to the game of rugby league and those looking to participate in a new summer season at a family friendly club.

Training sessions take place at Castleton Playing Fields on Tuesdays at 6.30pm.
