Motorbike trialsmen competed on Saturday in the Staffordshire Moorlands Trial at Hawks Nest.
It was the second round of the Moorlands Championship and again, the name of Robinson seemed well to the fore.
This time it was Ben who managed to shade the victory over Iain by virtue of the tie breaker. Both had the same amount of cleans but Ben had fewer ‘ones’.
In third place was Simon Tyas followed by Andy Hallam and Stu Day.
This leaves Iain Robinson narrowly leading the championship from Mark Atkinson, Ben Robinson and Stu Day.
The middle route saw a victory for Chris Greenwood on his immaculate 1990’s Twin Shock Honda who narrowly beat Andy Hipwell, Calvin Watson and Phil Hulme, all on modern bikes.
The contest in the Clubmans category was very tight with the first three riders being separated by only two marks.
Matt Burrows, whose habit of riding alone at the front of the entry, paid off as he held on to victory from Pat Trafford and James Beech.
