A Buxton primary school will be looking for more soccer success this year, after its pupils won a brace of trophies in late 2013.

Sides from years three and four at St Anne’s School lifted titles in December.

The school’s Boys’ B squad won their pool outright in the Buxton six-a-side football tournament, held at St Thomas Mores Secondary School.

The A team also took home a trophy on the day, after they opted to share first place with Harpur Hill Primary School, rather than face a golden goal extra time.

The two sides had finished with equal points and the same number of goals scored, which led to the sharing of the trophy.

The boys’ achievements emulated that of the school’s girls teams at the end of November, after they impressed in their tournament.

A spokesperson from the school said: “We’d like to say well done to all our football teams for their amazing achievements.”
