For the whole of the 2015 cycling time trials season, Tom Thornely and Mostyn Bullock have been battling against each other on the roads of Cheshire and Derbyshire to be the fastest man in at Buxton Cycling Club.

And it was Thornely who won the Buxton CC 25 mile time trial championship on Saturday with his fastest ever ride on the challenging J2/9 course in Cheshire. Tom recorded 56:23 to beat his previous course personal best by a minute as well as pushing defending champion Mostyn Bullock into second place despite his fast time of 56:58.

Chris Lea was not too far behind with a fine 57:57 as he comes back to form after an early season injury.

Fourth was Steve I’Anson with 1:00:50 seconds, fifth Jon Batt with 1:04:36 and sixth Liz Batt who finished with 1:05:46.

The 25 mile race was the second time trial championship of the season with Mostyn having previously relegated Tom to second place in the 10 mile event on the Chapel bypass course on 20 June with 21:44 compared to 21:51.
