A YOUNG horsewoman from Whaley Bridge has a soft touch when it comes to the toughest ponies.
Sarah Worthington, 12, a pupil at Hillcrest Grammar School in Cale Green, has won a host of awards for caring for the most difficult animals.
The Mill Farm Riding School in High Lane has given her a long list of awards for grooming, show jumping and general horse husbandry.
Sarah, who would like to work in the equestrian fashion business, said: “I look after Toya and Sandy, who I am told can be quite difficult, but when they are with me they are just real softies.”
Simon Crane, Head of Physical Education at Hillcrest, said: “Some people simply have an inner voice and calm demeanour that animals can sense and Sarah seems to be one of those special individuals.”
