Running: White clocks good time at Glossop

Buxton AC runners made the short trip to Glossop for the Herod Farm fell race, held under Scottish Hill Runners rules,

The race is held over a distance of three miles and climbs over a thousand feet.

Buxton were represented by 11 athletes, and first home was Rob White in an excellent 11th position thanks to a time of 21.01, followed by Jason Bennett (18th), Sol Clarke (22), Jon Sewell (41), Richard Bouglas (62), Pete Bailey (63), Jo Bednall (66), Alfie Bailey (78), Helen Brunt (99), Dave Forshaw (100) and Rachel Dowle (107).

Junior runner Louis Forshaw-Perring had a fantastic run to finish as second Buxton runner home in 14th position in a time of 27.28, while fellow youngster Joe Uprichard had a strong run to finish 30th after a time of 29.57.

On the roads, Mark Pursell competed in the annual Good Friday Salford 10K and was rewarded with a PB time of 37.39.

Fellow Club Member Kevin Mottram ran in the Air Products 10K at Crewe and came home in 42.09, Dave Forshaw claimed a PB at the Lyme Park Parkrun, in a time of 25.45, Steve Claye recorded 20.53 at Marple and Emma Havenhand clocked 23.20 at Chelmsford.
