THE VAULT’S Rick Rogers lifted the Buxton Pool League’s Singles Knockout title for the second time, defeating defending champion Daz Hodgson in last week’s final.
Rogers raced into a 2-0 lead at Buxton Working Men’s Club, before Triangles WMC’s Hodgson pulled a frame back.
Hodgson looked set to level the tie in the fourth frame but refused a chance of a clearance, allowing Rogers to clear up and win the title.
N Betts (Vault) and D Gibson (Queens Dove) were the losing semi-finalists.
The Doubles Final was an all-Blazing Rag affair, with Phil Holmes and James Oliphant beating Ben Minshull and Stu Ball 3-1.
Runners-up were K Boundy and W Gormanley (Nomads) and A Vernon and W Moseley (Kings).
The event also doubled as the league’s annual presentation evening, which saw The Vault receive the Division One title ahead of runners-up Blazing Rag.
The Second Division was a much closer affair, with just four points separating the top three teams.
It went right down to the wire with the Eagle, despite losing their last game of the season, clinching the title ahead of The Kings, with Fairfield Cons a close third.
The Team Knockout was won by The Vault who beat the Eagle Nomads, and the Consolation Cup went to the Triangles WMC ahead of Great Rocks.
Other winners: Captain’s Cup – Jason Middleton (Bull A); Most Wins KO – Andy Jones (Nomads); 1st Div Most Wins – J Oliphant (Blazing Rag); 2nd Div Most Wins – A Downings (Bull A) & S Morrissey (Eagle).
