ROUND three of the Darley Moor Motorcycle Road Race Championship takes place on Monday May 7.
In addition to the usual trophies on offer, the first half of a special ‘championship’ in memory of young Darley Moor racer Curtis Milner, who began his racing career at Darley but sadly died in a road accident in 2003, will be fought in the second Formula 600 race.
The Curtis Milner Trophy, along with the £500 prize fund, is normally decided in the afternoon’s Formula 600 races over the Easter and May Day Bank Holiday meetings, but unfortunately due to the adverse conditions that tested everybody the Easter meeting was cut short. This year it will be the May Day meeting and Round Four, due to be held on Sunday June 24.
In addition to the Formula 600 races there will be the usual mix of two, three and four-wheel action with the solos, sidecars and regular guests, the Long Circuit Kart Club all with plenty of local racers to support.
Camping and caravanning is available over the weekend, from Friday afternoon through to 10am Tuesday morning, for just £5 per night.
Practice starts at 10am, with the first of 19 races due to start at approximately 11.30am.
Admission is £11 for adults, £6 for senior citizens and free for kids under-16. Parking and paddock transfer is free.
