MASSED start cycle racing returns to the Peak District on Sunday with the High Peak Road Race.
The event will start at 10am from outside the Chelmorton Institute and encircle six laps of a seven-mile course around the villages of Chelmorton, Flagg and Monyash, finishing at around 11.45am.
Nearly 80 riders from across the UK, including more locally from Buxton and Matlock, will compete for the ‘Bikebox Alan’ Grand Prix. Riders will be handicapped into two groups based on age and ability.
Joint event organiser John Collins said: “The race is a repeat of the one held last year which was the first for almost a decade.
“Because it was hailed as a great success it is being repeated in a bigger, better format.
“The very tough undulating course will ensure that the first rider over the line will be a very worthy winner.”
