BUXTON & High Peak Golf Club hosted a highly-successful weekend of golf as club president Brian MacNaughton and lady president Liz Gee held competitions.

Winner of Saturday’s Mr President’s Day was Andrew Scowen (41 points), ahead of Bob Ayres (40 points) and Declan O’Dwyer (40 points).

Other results: Division One: 1st, Peter Guess, 40 points; 2nd, Derrick Lambert, 37 points. Division Two: 1st, Jordan Storer, 38 points; 2nd, Jamie Niblock, 38 points. Division Three: 1st, Jon White, 39 points; 2nd, Peter Lomas, 38 points. Best gross: Phil Godfrey, 73. Best past captain: Ron Clark, 36 points. Best vet: Jeff Gerrard, 37 points.

Winner of the junior prize was Matthew Bailey (37 points). Other results: 14-hole: James Norton, 25 points. Ten-hole: Bradley Dobson, 21 points.

Lady President’s Day on Sunday was won by Gill Morris (38 points), ahead of Alison Hodson (37 points) and Joanne Heap (37 points).

Best score on par threes: Eileen Mackay, 12 points. 18-holer: James Morris, 37 points. 14-holer: James Norton, 30 points. Ten-holer: Daniel Dobson, 23 points. Men’s competition: Junior Captain Tom Guess and Pete Guess, 18 points.

Winner of the ladies Benyon Trophy was Alison Hodson (69), from Sheila Walters (72) and Gill Morris (72).
