MEMBERS of High Peak Netball Club have been selected to go forward to Derbyshire County Satellite Training.
Annie Baldwin and Nadine Parkinson, both aged 11, were among those from the club picked for the under-14s training programme, having both just moved up from High 5 netball to the seven-a-side game.
Club spokeswoman Sue Danson said: “Well done to all the players from the Buxton and Chapel-en-le-Frith areas who got into both Derbyshire County Satellite and Academy Training.”
Sophie Ashmore, who has helped with the coaching of the High 5 members and latterly junior members, has passed her level one coaching award. Sophie has travelled around the county with the teams at matches, as well as helping with the coaching.
The High 5 Club trains on Mondays between 4pm and 5pm in term time. The next training session will take place at Buxton Community School’s sports hall on October 31.
Training for junior club members, aged 11 to 15, is on Tuesdays, between 5pm and 7pm in term time. Their next training session will be at the community school’s sports hall on November 1.
The High 5 Club year six and the year seven members are entered into the Derbyshire League, which starts in November. All new players are welcome, but the club needs more year six players to help make-up a squad of players for this league.
