Point from Isle of Wight clash gives Buxton Hitmen confidence

BUXTON Hitmen claimed a point from their National League clash with the Isle of Wight Islanders on Tuesday evening.

The final score of 49-44 meant defeat for the Buxton side, but was still enough for the Hitmen to take a point.

Promoter Jayne Moss said: “The team has been struggling so far this season and having big gaps between fixtures hasn’t helped as some of the lads haven’t had the chance to stay race fit.

“To go to the Isle of Wight last night and come back with a point is great and will give the team confidence going into Sunday’s meeting, which is going to be tough.”

The Hitmen’s first home meeting since July 10 takes place on Sunday against the Kings Lynn Young Stars.

The team line-ups for Sunday are:

Buxton: Adam Allott, Dean Felton, Robert Branford, Luke Priest, Ben Taylor, Paul Burnett, Ryan Blacklock.

Kings Lynn: Kyle Hughes, Oliver Rayson, Scott Campos, Jake Knight, James Cockle, Tom Stokes, Lewis Kerr.
