OVER 160 runners tackled Buxton Rotary’s sixth annual Windgather Fell Race earlier this month, the final race in the Goyt Valley Series.

The event, also one of seven events constituting Accelerate of Sheffield’s Gritstone Series, was hailed a resounding success by organisers.

Adam Osborne won the male senior class, while Olivia Walwyn-Bush, from Altrincham & District Athletic Club, set a new womens’ record of one hour, 40 minutes and 24 seconds.

Results - Male Seniors: 1st, Adam Osborne; 2nd, Stuart Bond; 3rd, Tom Bush. Women Seniors: 1st, Olivia Walwyn-Bush; 2nd, Jo Mayland; 3rd, Claire Oliffe. Veterans Male 40+: Richard Houghton. Veterans Male 50+: Dave Neill. Veterans Male 60+: Trevor Longman. Veterans Women 35+: Sandra Lewis. Veterans Women 40+: Antoinette Minnitti. Veterans Women 50+: Jo Miles.
