HIGH Peak Netball Club has been boosted by a £200 donation from Waitrose.

The money, along with other sponsorship from Alternate Hair, has been used to purchase new playing kits, and will also help the club’s assistant coach, Sophie Ashmore, undertake her Level One Coaching Course.

The club is preparing to enter its second full season catering for players aged between eight and 16. Coaching commences at Buxton Community School’s sports hall, on Mondays from September 12 for ages eight to 11 (years four, five and six), between 4pm and 5pm. Boys and girls are welcome. Training for members aged 12 to 16 (years seven, eight and nine) will take place at the community school on Tuesday nights between 5pm and 7pm.

Club officials are hoping the county will run a tournament for 12-year-old players, as well as a High 5 Tournament. Club coaches are aiming to visit local schools next month to host taster sessions.
