Buxton Cycling Club’s annual Long Hill Open Climb takes place this Sunday (September 6) with Dame Sarah Storey set to take part.

Storey, who has 10 Paralympic gold medals, has recently been seen training near Buxton in preparation for the event.

The race consists of a timed ascent of the climb out of the road from Whaley Bridge towards Buxton, starting on the edge of the village and finishing just before the turn-off to the Goyt Valley, for a total distance of 4.4 miles.

65 riders will head out individually from 10am, at one minute intervals, on the day.
