The latest round of High Peak Netball League matches opened with the B Division clash between Lasses and Leftovers.

With Leftovers fielding only six players, Lasses stormed to a 16-9 victory, thanks to some excellent scoring by Paula Williams, while Leftovers’ Caroline Morgan defended well in the second half.

Emma Fitzgerald fired Cobras to a 12-5 half-time lead in their exciting A Division clash against Shots. Despite some excellent interceptions and passes by Meisha Armstrong, Shots lost the match 17-12.

Some lovely shooting from Alice Andrew at goal-attack gave Rems an 8-4 lead over Violets at half-time. Violets never gave up the fight thanks to Laura Shepley, but Rems held on to win 17-11.

Tigers’ Maggie Heelan and Chinley A’s Hayley Lever were the stand-out performers in their closely-fought clash, which the Tigers edged 18-15.

The remaining match saw Seconds beat Pink Ladies 9-7, having led 5-2 at the break.

Jenny Jackson shot well for Seconds in the second half, while Hannah Burbidge put in an excellent defensive display for Pink Ladies to keep the scoring to a minimum.
