Young Buxton rider Mitch Brightmore won the youth class at the Staffordshire Moorlands MCC Trial for the Harry Machin Memorial Trophy at Manor Steps, Quarnford.

Brightmore lost only three marks at section three — water, rocks and gradient — which troubled most riders. He finished third overall.

Sam Yeomans took the Harry Machin Trophy from Paul Sullivan.

A total of 72 riders tested their skills against the rocky stream and steep banks of the popular venue.

Ian Margetts won the 50/50 class, four marks ahead of Tom Bennett with Neil Butterworth third.

In the Clubman’s class , Danny Littlehales and Chris Gascoigne both lost just one mark on their Hondas.

Littlehales got the result on the tie breaker.
