Unbeaten cruiserweight Jack Massey takes his career in the paid ranks up a gear on Saturday night, with his first six-round fight.
The Chapel-en-le-Frith boxer makes his sixth outing at Manchester’s Victoria Warehouse on a packed bill.
Massey, who overcame Moses Matovu last month, says he intends to impress spectators as he makes the step-up.
He said: “Moving up to six rounds will suit me because I can sometimes start slow.
“I think I’ll end up stopping more people now.
“I’m improving with every fight.
“I don’t think I’m too far off the top guys in the division already to be honest.”
Massey’s promoter Steve Wood believes the maiden six-round scrap will give a good indication of where Jack is at.
He said: “Jack is one of the best prospects in the UK.
“You don’t win a senior ABA title without being a quality fighter, and he’s adapted to the pro game really well.
“This next fight will be his first six-rounder, and if he gets through it OK, we’ll look to continue to progress him.”
