Harpur were the overall winners with a score of 182, followed by Burbage (116), Fairfield (96) and St Anne’s (86).

The team will now represent Buxton in the High Peak competition, against the winning schools from Chapel-en-le-Frith, New Mills and Glossop.

For the third year running, Harpur will represent the High Peak at the county basketball finals, which take place at Moorways Stadium in Derby on Saturday March 17.

l The school also picked up trophies recently in two local football competitions.

The boys and girls teams won the year three/four indoor football competition at St Thomas More School, which involved most of the area’s local primary schools.
