Golf: Charley helps team to second

Charley Mycock junior member of Buxton & High Peak GC has won The England golf National Skills Challenge Midlands Regional Final 2013 (Boys 15-17) held at The Warwickshire Golf Club.

Buxton and High Peak GC junior member Charley Mycock played his part as Derby College impressed in the latest round of the British Schools and Colleges Golf Tour.

Mycock was representing the College’s A team and posted a gross score of 86 and a nett score of 81, off his handicap of 3, at the event at the National Golf Centre, Woodhall Spa Golf Club.

The format of each event is a team of six players representing each college.

The Derby A Team finished second in the Gross event to Balby College, with the Derby B Team winning the Nett event.

Performance manager Nigel Furniss said: “It was a good result with some consistent and improving performances.”
