A POPULAR cross-country race in a picturesque part of the southern Peak District is being held for the 57th year.
The Dovedale Dash covers a 4¾-mile course over field and dale on rough paths and tracks, and features a crossing of the iconic river Dove at the Stepping Stones beauty spot.
Last year, over 1,500 runners of all ages and capabilities competed.
The race will be held on Sunday November 4, starting from Thorpe Pastures at 11am. Parking is free and will be signposted on the day.
Trophies are up for grabs in the open class, under-18s, under-14s, over-60s, women and locals categories. A separate race for participants aged under-10 will start at 10am.
Entry is £5 on the day, with a reduction for under-14s. Registration will be open from 9am.
