Combs Sailing Club in Chapel-en-le-Frith is encouraging more people to get out on the water this summer by holding a Sail for Gold ‘Have a Go’ day.
Starting at 1pm on Saturday, there will be a chance to go out on the water with an experienced sailor.
The sessions are part of a nationwide initiative from sailing’s governing body, the Royal Yachting Association, to bring the 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games as close to home as possible for everyone, regardless of where they live.
Russell Talbot, from Combs SC, said: “It would be fantastic if through London 2012 and Sail for Gold we can inspire a whole new generation of people in the High Peak to get out onto the water and discover a new favourite pastime.”
Everything you need will be provided, but spare clothes will be useful.
