Fearn’s first home with PB

Buxton AC’s Jake Fearn led the field home in the recent Pavilion Gardens 5k, in a personal-best time of 17 minutes and 27 seconds.

In second place was Jason Brunnock (17.59), ahead of Mark Pursell (18.32) and junior Elliot Meylan (18.35).

The first female home was Staffordshire Moorlands’ Kerry Marchant (19.04), followed by Caroline Pimblett (20.01) and Ava Holden (21.31), who was also the first junior female finisher. Emma Wentworth (21.47) continues to dominate the female veteran 35 club record.

In the inaugural Chesterfield & Derbyshire Marathon, Jason Bennett claimed fifth place in a personal-best time of two hours, 56 minutes and 44 seconds.

In the Stockport Mile, Rob White impressed with second place, in a time of four minutes and 51 seconds.

At the Gawsworth 10K, Ben Light (38.27) ran a great race to finish fourth, as did Rachel Chatwin (43.46) in the ladies’ race. She was also the first female over-40. Hayden Alcock (44.23) and Liam Browne (50.43) finished 35th and 94th respectively.
