With the Buxton CC Prize Giving Dinner approaching on January 25, the results of the season-long competitions have now been calculated.

The results of the weekly time trial series around the Fairfield Common circuit are combined in the Len Eyre competitions for scratch and handicap awards.

Both of these awards use the results of the riders’ best six performances, with 10 points for the winner down to one point for tenth place.

Mostyn Bullock won the scratch competition with a maximum 60 points, having come second in 2011 and 2012.

He beat Tom Thornely (57 points) into second place and Sam Bowden (51 points) into third.

In the handicap competition, Steve I’Anson won with 53 points from Liz Batt who was second with 46 points, and Tom Thornely who came third with 45 points.

It was also a successful season for the time trial series with 23 club members gaining points in the scratch competition and 18 in the handicap competition.

In the longer distance events, Chris Lea once again won the Best all-rounder competition.

Lea clocked rides of 22.25 for 10 miles, 54.18 for 25 miles, 1.58.21 for 50 miles and 3.53.59 for 100 miles.
