Athletes from St Thomas More School in Buxton were among those representing High Peak at the Derbyshire Schools Athletics Championships recently.
Top performer at Derby’s Moorways Arena was Nathan Staniford, who achieved a silver medal in the under-17 800 metres final.
His time of 2:01:00 was just two seconds behind his rival Dominic Chambers, in very difficult running conditions.
Staniford also won bronze in the county cross country championships earlier this year.
Other athletes competing from St Thomas More at the Derbyshire Schools Athletics Championships were Michael Postil (100 metres), Angus Doig (400 metres), Kieran Connell (800 metres) and Charlie Wright (200 metres).
