HIGH Peak Netball Club has achieved a bronze Clubmark.

The award recognises the club’s formation of a junior section and the management systems it has put in place to aid development.

A spokesperson said: “A number of club members have given a good deal of time and effort to achieve this. Among them are Tracey Mellor, Jane Hadfield, Sue Danson and the coaches, namely Collette Buckley Hilary Graham, Claire Booth and Sophie Ashmore.”

The junior clubs meet at Buxton Community School’s sports hall during term time: junior school pupils aged 8-11 on Mondays, 4pm-5pm; and secondary school pupils aged 11-16 on Tuesdays, 5pm-7pm.

Tournaments for under-11s and under-12s begin this month.

The Tuesday Club is entering two teams in the Junior League in Chesterfield, which will start at Easter. The teams will consist of years seven, eight and nine players in one, and years nine, ten and 11 in the other.
