• At the recent county swimming championships, held at Ponds Forge in Sheffield, Buxton Swimming Club volunteer Trisha Longden received the Derbyshire Aquaforce Award for outstanding contribution at club level.

The award recognises volunteers within the county who go above and beyond to help local people within the sport.

Trish has been a volunteer with the club for over seven years and in 2010 achieved her ASA/UKCC Teacher of Aquatics Level 1 certificate.

She has since become a level 2 teacher, level 1 coach and gained many other qualifications as she continues to help local swimmers.
