Cavendish Golf Club will toast its 90th anniversary with a number of special events.
The Buxton course was designed by golf architect Dr Alister MacKenzie, who went on to create the original Augusta National Course in the USA which stages the Masters.
Among the activities to mark Cavendish’s landmark will be a competition on Wednesday, April 8 played to MacKenzie’s original design of the course, complete with 1925 period dress.
The anniversary day will conclude with an informal social evening.
Later in the month, the club are looking to embrace the future and reach out to a new and younger audience through the launch of FootGolf.
It will become the first club in the county to host the rapidly growing sport which is essentially football played on a golf course.
A launch event is being held on Sunday, April 26. Call 01298 79708 for more.
